The Information Desk will open to welcome delegates and provide support throughout the Nunavut Mining Symposium. Attendees can pick up registration materials, badges, and event information, as well as receive assistance with schedules, session locations, and general inquiries.

This session will open with a keynote address from Premier John Main, outlining the priorities of Nunavut’s new government and its vision for the territory’s future. With a strong focus on workforce development, training, and capacity building, the Premier will highlight how these priorities align with the continued growth of Nunavut’s mining sector.

Following the keynote, a fireside chat with Premier Main and Minister Simailak will offer a more in-depth and conversational exploration of these themes. The discussion will examine how government, industry, and Inuit organizations can work together to expand training opportunities, strengthen local capacity, and ensure Nunavummiut are well positioned to participate in and benefit from resource development.

This technical session will provide the latest insights into exploration activity and geological research across Nunavut. Presentations will highlight recent discoveries, evolving exploration strategies, and new data that is shaping the understanding of the region’s mineral potential.

Format will be company specific 20 minute update sessions. 

Join fellow delegates for a midday break and an opportunity to connect over lunch. This session provides a relaxed setting to continue conversations from the morning, meet new colleagues, and strengthen relationships across industry, government, and Inuit organizations.

Lunch offers valuable time to exchange ideas, explore potential partnerships, and reflect on key themes emerging from the symposium.

Exhibitors are invited to set up their booths and displays in preparation for the Trade Show opening. This dedicated time allows participants to organize materials, coordinate logistics, and ensure their space is ready to welcome delegates.

Presentations will highlight frameworks for resilient mining, lessons learned from decades of environmental effects monitoring, and approaches to balancing development with environmental protection.

Each of these sessions will be individual company presentations at 20 minutes each. 

Infrastructure development is a critical enabler for unlocking Nunavut’s mineral potential and attracting new investment. This panel will explore how strategic investments in infrastructure can reduce project costs, improve access, and increase the overall viability of mining projects in the region.

Panelists will also highlight the growing role of dual-use infrastructure can deliver broader benefits to communities, including improved connectivity, energy solutions, and shared services. The discussion will focus on how collaborative approaches to infrastructure can support both economic development and long-term community value across Nunavut.

Join us for a reception on the trade show floor along with an auction in support of the Nunavut Mining Symposium Scholarship Fund. This special event, hosted by Nuna Group of Companies,  brings delegates together for a fun and meaningful opportunity to contribute to the development of future leaders in Nunavut’s mining sector.

Proceeds from the auction support the NMS Society Scholarship Fund that support education and training opportunities for young Nunavummiut, helping to build the next generation of skilled professionals. The evening may also feature a special address from Women in Mining, highlighting the importance of inclusion, mentorship, and advancing opportunities for women in the industry.

The session will emphasize collaboration between government, Inuit organizations, and industry.

Join the executive directors from NIRB, NPC and the NWB as they speak about the evolving regulatory landscape in Nunavut, with particular attention to upcoming devolution process. Panelists will explore how regulatory changes impact investor confidence, project timelines, and land access.
