Vice-President Paul Irngaut was elected in December of 2022 and in 2026 assumed the role of Acting President. NTI is an organization that works to ensure that the responsibilities under the Nunavut Agreement are met by communities, the territorial and federal governments.
Mr. Irngaut worked with the Executive and Wildlife Communications and later became the Director of Wildlife and Environment with NTI.
Paul Irngaut was born on the land between Pond Inlet and Igloolik and raised in Igloolik. He lived in Ottawa for six years and moved back to Iqaluit in 1989, where he lives today.
Before joining the Organization, Mr. Irngaut was with CBC North where he was the first Inuk video journalist. In his spare time, Paul enjoys hunting, boating, and camping.
