Adam Chamberlain is a lawyer who works regularly in Nunavut for a variety of clients including government, Inuit and private sector entities. He considers himself to be privileged to be asked to provide legal assistance on various interesting and important matters involving Nunavummiut and other northerners. Of recent note, Adam acts as counsel to the Government of Nunavut in matters related to the devolution by Canada of lands and natural resources in Nunavut.
Adam is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office and an active member of the firm’s environmental, Indigenous and Canada North practices. Certified as a Specialist in both Environmental Law and Indigenous Legal Issues (Corporate and Commercial) by the Law Society of Ontario, Adam has a broad practice with work related to these areas of expertise at its heart.
Adam’s work is geographically diverse and he is an active member of the bar in all three of Canada’s northern territories in addition to Ontario. His clients include Indigenous organizations (Inuit, Metis and First Nations), governments, government agencies and private companies of various sorts in the mining, natural resources and other sectors.
