Tara started learning about the land and developing skills at outpost camps during the establishment of Nunavut then settled in Cambridge Bay after finishing a degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She has supported the work of the Nunavut Impact Review Board since 2009 in various positions. Her priorities are continuing to learn about the land and wildlife in Nunavut through experience and building skills, supporting family, participating in local food growing opportunities, and maintaining the guilty and expensive habit of growing orchids.

From a very young age, he has been curious about everything; he even disassembled his sister’s toy sewing machine -something his sister was very mad about. Solomon picked up many traditional skills from his parents and loves to tell the stories that he learnt from his father. He tells stories to the general public, day cares, and schools; and has also taught at arctic college about traditional knowledge.
Solomon currently lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut with his wife, Jodi, and their two teenage children. He also has five adult children, from his first marriage, along with several grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Erin Bros is a professional geoscientist with EGBC and the OGQ (with French fluency). She brings over a decade of experience in geological mapping, project management, and Indigenous relations to her role as regional bedrock mapping geoscientist at the Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office. Her current research focuses on better understanding stratigraphic and structural relationships of Archean greenstone belts of Baffin Island/Qikiqtaaluk. She is currently completing her MSc on the Mary River Group greenstone belt of northern Baffin Island/Qikiqtaaluk.
Her experience spans a variety of challenging environments, including mountainous and remote northern regions, where she has consistently delivered results in geological mapping and project management. Erin gained valuable experience early in her career participating in regional mapping programs with the YGS, BCGS, CNGO and GSC. Erin has worked in commodities spanning porphyry, epithermal, VMS, orogenic, BIF, skarn, and LCT pegmatite systems. Her mission is to preserve the art of geological mapping and set a high standard of geological knowledge across all scientific research and exploration programs. five years supporting engagement with Inuit organizations and communities across the
Kitikmeot. Raised in Pond Inlet and Taloyoak, Alex developed a strong understanding of
what community success looks like, and how sustainable economic opportunities can
help support that success. He holds a diploma in Renewable Resource Technology
from Arctic College and began his career working in wildlife management and economic
development with the Governments of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Alex has an extensive background in the mining industry, having held senior roles with
Miramar Mining, TMAC Resources, and the Nunavut/NWT Chamber of Mines. His work
has focused on stakeholder relations, socio-economic development, employment and
training, and Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement implementation. Alex has also been an
active community volunteer, serving as a Civilian instructor with the Army Cadet Corps,
and remains deeply committed to supporting Inuit agency and resilience across the
territory.

Dr. Brian Budd is a Senior Associate with DPRA Canada. Brian holds a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Guelph. With the support of a fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Brian’s doctoral research focused on evaluating progress of non-Indigenous organizations in responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Final Report and Calls to Action. Brian’s academic work has also involved community-engaged research with Indigenous communities across Canada. In 2015, he joined the First Nation Digital Democracy project which explored how digital technologies can support innovation, capacity building, and enhancements to First Nation governance.
Brian is trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods with experience in community-engaged participatory research, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and content analysis. Dr. Budd’s research outputs include a total of 22 peer-reviewed articles, public reports, and op-eds. In addition to his academic experience, Brian has also worked in the public sector as a policy analyst with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. As a public servant, Brian supported the development and implementation of key ministry policies and priorities related to digital learning in Ontario’s postsecondary sector.

Harry Flaherty has served as President and CEO of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (QC) since 2009, leading the organization through a period of growth, strategic diversification, and expanded Inuit participation in Nunavut’s economy. Today, QC is the largest Inuit-owned private employer in the Qikiqtani Region, operating a broad portfolio of subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships that have established QC as a prominent and reliable leader and partner in industrial, institutional, and infrastructure development.
Mr. Flaherty is nationally recognized for his contributions to Indigenous economic development and was inducted into the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business Hall of Fame with a Lifetime Achievement Award – the first Inuk to receive this distinction in the award’s 20-year history. He serves on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Business Action Committee and the BMO Indigenous Advisory Council, contributing a northern and Inuit perspective to national business and policy discussions.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Mr. Flaherty is an elected member of Iqaluit City Council and serves as Alternate Deputy Mayor. He is known for his pragmatic, partnership-driven approach to resource development that aligns commercial success with Inuit employment, training, and long-term regional benefits.
